How to transfer video from MicroSD card to iPad tutorial

How to move/transfer video from MicroSD card to iPad. In this post I will show you one way to transfer your videos from a MicroSD card to your iPad for storage or editing. This method requires the use of an external card reader.

Step number one is to insert the microsd card to the card reader. Now connect the card reader to the ipad lightning connector usually on the bottom part of the ipad.

Step number two, wait for the blue light on the card reader to stay lit. If it continues to blink you may need to disconnect and reconnect it again.

Next you want to go to your FILES on ipad and look for the "Untitled" Drive, UNTITLED is given when you first connect the Card reader for the first time, if you name it, the iPad will recognize it next time you plug it in. 

Tap to open the UNTITLED drive and go into the folder DCMI, tap on it and you will be able to view the video files that you have on your MicroSd card. 

Tap on the one you want to transfer. The file opens and on the top right hand corner you will see an icon with an up arrow. Tap on the up arrow and now you will get a window with a lost of places to save your file to.

For the sake of this tutorial we will just save it to the downloads for that is shown to us. 

Depending on the size of the video, it will take a little longer to save or shorter time if it's a small video.

Now that you successfully added the video to your downloads you can edit and adjust the video as you needed.

There are other methods that are possible without the sd card reader however this method is for taking video that is on an action camera such as the YI action camera demonstrated in the video listed here.

I will make some further posts to show you a different method that is for transferring video to Google Drive and then downloading the file from there to your ipad.
