How to delete photos and video from JVC Everio GZ-MG130

Here's a visual guide to help you delete pictures and video from the JVC Everio camcorder. Right from the start I need to tell you that if you delete something make sure you absolutely do not wanted as this function can not be undone and you will more likely loose the file for good.

Be sure you backed up everything of the camcorder and anything you are about to delete is not needed anymore. Ok, with that said let's get started.

First step is to turn on the camera:

Next step is to choose the mode, if its video set it to video, is its photo then set it to photo. Once its on go to the play button on the side of the camera:

From the play menu you will see the thumbnails related to your most current video or photo

The file you want will be highlighted with a green outline

Press in the middle joystick as you see in the photo above, this will select the file

Next step is to go down and press the FUNCTION button that is below the joystick, this will show the DELETE menu, it is the first option up top.

Next window shows you three options, for this tutorial pick the first one CURRENT and press in the middle joystick button.

The next window is highlighted in blue and will ask if you want to cancel or execute on the file

With the joystick go up and highlight EXECUTE and push in the joystick

After the file is the deleted it will go to the next if you want to exit just hit cancel instead 

If you want to do this another way you can go to file select

From here you can use the joystick to select the file highlighted in green and this will add a GARBAGE can icon to the selected file

Press in the joystick to delete the file 

Select the first option and it will delete the file you choose

For a photo just choose the PHOTO mode

Select the photo highlighted in green

Next window opens, select DELETE

Next window opens 

For this tutorial just choose current and this will delete the file. You can also do file select or Delete All but beware DELETE All erases all your images so make sure they are backed up.
