Rode VideoMic and Sony A6300 How to set it up and use.

In this video we will demonstrate how to set up Rode VideoMic and Sony A6300. Audio examples will follow at the end of this presentation.

If you would like to skip some parts, we will set up time stamps to other scenes of the video if you already know some things about the camera or mic.

To start you will need to insert the battery into the mic. Locate the hot shoe adapter on the bottom of the mic. On the camera locate the hot shoe and remove the tab, it should click and slide off. You will then attach the mic and turn it clockwise till it fits tight. The next step is to find the mic input on the camera. It is located on the left hand side. There is a small door that pulls open. The mic input is red. Take the mic cord and plug it.
Next, turn the camera on. Set the camera dial to film mode. Press the menu button and go to number page 8 of the menu. Go to Audio recording and set it to on. Turn the mic on. Go to Audio Rec Level and make sure that it is not clipping.

Now you are ready to use the RODE mic with the Sony A6300. If you found this video helpful, please share it and don't forget to subscribe.
