How to use Sony cybershot dsc w55 digital camera as webcam tutorial

How to use a digital camera as a webcam for livestreaming. The Sony Cybershot dsc w55 is the one will be using for this tutorial. I will go step by step in the process of making this happen including a deep discussion of the hardware, the menu inside the camera, the cable for audio and video transfer. Also the specific audio video to USB box or card. Any will work but the one I demonstrate here is the Pinnacle Studio.

From there I will show you how to connect the camera and using OBS as the broadcaster we will set up the camera from start to finish. Also note that once the camera is connected you can also use any program with it such as Skype, Zoom, OBS, Stream Yard or just about any other program will detect it as a webcam once its connected via the usb port on your pc.

For this camera you need a specific cable and I will post a link to were you can find the cable here. As far as the audio is concern, I think its ok but you will have a far better result using either the pc or even better and external mic to capture your audio.

Who is this for? well it can be useful for those on a budget who would like to stream. For gamers who only need a small screen size while their gameplay framing is bigger. For those who want to add a second angle to their stream as a tutorial purpose.

There are other possibilities and since I had original made a video regarding the video connections, this follow up video explaining it it better detail and a far deeper explanation of the menus and the set up.

How do you livestream? do you use a webcam? do you use a dslr? do you use a camcorder? let me know how you connect your camera to your pc?
